Hey there!

We are now looking for Senior Android Developer to join our Tech team!

Become a key contributor to the renewal of our native Android application in Kotlin and take Tori's mobile user experience to the next level! As an experienced Android Developer you will work in a cross-functional team with other mobile developers, UX designers, backend developers and business owners. 

In addition to the complete renewal of our Android client you will also have to build an understanding of our current application. You have a creative problem-solver mindset and you're open-minded and curious towards other platforms and services. You know what makes a good REST API for mobile apps and you are interested by multiplatforms solution like Kotlin cross compiler.

We are talking about a full-time job, in the city center of Helsinki, in a nice and cozy office. Your main responsibilities as Senior Android Developer are:

  • Contribute to the design and development of Tori's new Android app in Kotlin, support the current app written in Java
  • Contribute to the development of SDKs to deliver product specific functionality
  • Participate to the specification of REST APIs for Mobile apps
  • Work on optimisation and performance analysis of Kotlin code
  • Design with testability in mind and creation of unit and integration tests with code coverage
  • Be creative and experiment with new solutions, but also be pragmatic and committed to code quality and maintainability

You will succeed in this role if you have:

  • Programming experience in Kotlin and Java
  • Good understanding of CLEAN and SOLID architecture
  • Experience in application development using Android SDK, Android Studio and Gradle
  • Good understanding of networking, caching of local data and multitasking on Android
  • Experience with Kotlin Coroutines for asynchronous operations
  • Experience in developing applications that interact with REST services
  • Experience with software development best practices and agile methodologies
  • You can adapt quickly to changes and you have good communication skills in english
  • You will benefit in this role if you have University degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent degree and if you have around 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Definitely a plus if your skill set contains one or several of the following: 
    • Understanding of React, unidirectional data flow and redux-like architecture for the UI (Mvrx)
    • Experience with automated testing tools like Espresso
    • Familiarity with application release using Travis CI / CD
    • Attention to details, both in code and design/UX
    • Experience with reactive programming (RxJava)
    • Experience with 3rd party libraries and APIs like Koin, Retrofit etc.
