CFO (Chief Financial Officer) substitute

Hey there!

We are now looking for Finance Guru with some understanding of people matters to take care of our People & finance team!

We are talking about parental leave substitution during 1.6.2019 - 31.8.2020 in the city centre of Helsinki, in a nice and cozy office. The substitution period is from June 2019 to August 2020 but we hope you could start as soon as possible in order us to ensure a comprehensive onboarding for you to this diverse role!

Your main responsibilities as CFO substitute would include

  • Being accountable for Tori's administrative functions (finance and people operations), overseeing all financial processes, including accounting, budgeting, controlling, forecasting and reporting together with our Business Controller and with our outsourced accounting company
  • Supporting our different businesses, teams and CEO in financial planning & analysis, business development and strategic initiatives
  • Financial communications with all stakeholders
  • Participating in continuous improvement of current operations, tools and in design of Business strategy that drives sustainable growth
  • Supporting insights and development initiatives to improve our scalability and effectiveness in different areas of operations
  • Playing an important role in Tori management team in defining and executing the strategy to ensure Tori marketplace business growth to the next levels
  • Developing highly functional relationships with fellow operational leaders and building network across Schibsted Nordics
  • Contributing to the People and Finance team's targets, mentoring our in-house People and Finance team (currently 3 employees) and representing both Finance and People perspective in Tori management team


Key requirements

  • Good understanding of accounting, business analysis, financial controls and experience with relevant administrative and accounting practises
  • Ability to drive the company’s financial planning and propose action plans to ensure that financial objectives and important KPIs are being reached
  • Approach that supports growth initiatives and finance/KPI-based decision making
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical skills and feeling at home with analytics tools, data and insight generation
  • Experience in leading finance team and an ability to supervise the financial partners
  • Ability to plan and lead but also ready to get your hands dirty and bring in concrete input when needed
  • Clear and persuasive communications in fluent English (a Nordic language is a plus but not a must) within Tori team, across Schibsted and with important stakeholders including the Board of Directors
  • Leadership skills ideally in T-shape model, meaning that you have subject-matter expertise but can also collaborate with all of our functions
